How to spot a great business idea?

SO you want to start your own business.

A lot of people this time are thinking of switching from their daily 8-hour work to starting their own ventures. However, what holds them to immediately jump into being their own boss is deciding what type of ventures to start. It is indeed quite difficult to find what business to start that really works for you and fits your skills and financial situation. But other individuals have also numerous brilliant business ideas but their problem now is their determination to kick-off the venture and sustain it.

Based on my experience, it is not ideal to keep on looking what's best business for you. Before, I have this idea of starting an ink refilling station. But what held me from starting the business were my worries whether there was a potential market and of course how to sustain the operation of business. I believe it was a good business since there was no ink refilling stations in the city by that time. After just a week or so, a popular ink refilling station has opened. Then after a month, another one. So I thought wow! I was not wrong that there was indeed a market potential of ink refilling stations. This time it is more difficult to join the market than two or three years ago. What am I trying to emphasize here is that if you have a great concept, then act on it and waste no time. Don't wait for the perfect time because it will never come. Just act on it!

So, how will you find great business idea? Basically, it starts within yourself. What do you have that you can offer to others? What skills do you have that can solve a particular problem in your community? It is actually finding an existing problem in your area and what are the existing solutions being offered to the problem. If you think you can offer more than what is being offered then that is a potential business idea. So why don't you start examining yourself and your community. Who knows the moment you get out, you will be able spot the great business idea that you have been searching for.
